Forbes Africa Person Awards 2012
Chairman of The Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and former Managing Director of United Bank for Africa Plc, Tony Elumelu are among the 5 nominees for 2012’s Forbes Africa Person Award. Mr. Dangote is ofcourse the richest man in Africa and Mr. Elumelu grooms African business leaders and entrepreneurs through the Tony Elumelu Foundation. The other nominees are President of Malawi Joyce Banda, CEO of Equity Bank Limited Dr. James Mwangi, and co-founder of Aspen Pharmacare Stephen Saad. The nominees were nominated by Forbes Africa readers because of their impact on African business in the past year. Voting closes today, November 1st 2012, and the winner will be revealed in an event in Nigeria. Last year the award went to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
