The discovery of Africa by Africa

Over the years, a lot has been said about Africa and its beauty. What do you really mean by “the beauty of Africa”? Everyone seems to know… even those who have never been to africa. the most misunderstood thing about Africa is where it is. Some will just go to the atlas and show you the second biggest continent of the seven and say “here is africa!”

That is entirely incorrect. the atlas is not the real thing but just a mere representation of what is or ‘might’ be true. Some would beg to differ and take you to the African continent and say “you are now in Africa!”.

That also might be true, but not intirely true. Then an African may come up to you and say “I am Africa!” That might confuse you, but it is the truth. Africa is a place where not just anybody can just visit at any time they feel like, but one they have live in first, in order to be certain of its location.

One might be born in the African continent but still not be an African. One might be born, grow to live, and die outside the African continent and still be more African than a quarter of the African population. Simply because he or she has dicovered Africa.

Africa is not the “big Five”, the big five is just group of animals found in this continent. Africa is not the land, the land is just part of this earth situated this side. Africa is not the Black man. The Black man is just the first man to walk on land after the apes and the apeman. Africa is within.

If one can search deeply inside just to find Africa, he will the dicover where Africa is situated. And later when one asks where Africa is, he should then be able to stand tall with pride and say ” no need to search far. You have found Africa. Africa is the spirit of Ubuntu. I might not be an African nor look African, but I am Africa!”
